The desire to learn a more self-defence orientated fighting system led Marcos to
first start training in Krav Maga with Head Instructor Eyal Yanilov in 1995. Marcos
was on the first krav Maga instructors course held in the UK in 1997 where he passed
with the highest grade possible (G3). Marcos is one of the few instructors in the
UK to have qualified as a Krav Maga instructor, not only certified by the International
Krav Maga Federation, but also by the Wingate Institute of Sport In Israel and the
Israeli Ministry of Sport and Education. Marcos then went to Israel several times
over the next two years to train with senior instructors Gabi Noah and Amnon Darsa
as well as Eyal Yanilov. In 1999 Marcos became the first UK instructor to gain his
Expert Level in Krav Maga (one of only two expert levels in the UK). Marcos has been
teaching Krav Maga since qualifying as an instructor in 1997 to civilians and security
personnel. He teaches both public and private classes and regularly does seminars
and gradings across the UK. He also provides monthly training and continuing professional
development for other IKMF qualified instructors.
As well as teaching Krav Maga, Marcos still trains regularly in Muay Thai and submission wrestling and has competed in various forms of martial art including Boxing, Muay Thai, Judo, Karate, and most recently in Mixed Martial Arts.
Marcos Lall has over 20 years experience in the martial arts. In his mid-teens he
started amateur boxing in the youth club system and then took up kickboxing at college.
Marcos went on to train for several years with Tyrone Wasniewski in Wado Ryu karate
before taking up judo with Percy Sekine at the London Judokan . In 1995 Marcos started
Thai-boxing, firstly with World Champion Dave Martins at the Cobra gym in London
and later with former British Heavyweight kickboxing champion Stephen Smith in Farnborough.
